As you know, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Sophia and I have been brain storming on how I can stay home and babysit her. So I am putting out feelers to see if there are any takers on leaving their children with me...(and now I am doing my evil laugh). If you know anyone, please let me know!Thursday, October 08, 2009

Welcome Autumn!
Hello everyone...or the 2 or 3 of you who follow this... ;-)
This is my pride and joy. The DIAPER CAKE. I don't know how many people I told that I was making a diaper cake and everyone thought it was an actual cake that was made to look like diapers; however it is a cake made out of diapers! I had a blast doing this and do believe I am going to have a nice side business with making them. (In the center is a surprise for the mommy and daddy to be...a bottle of wine!)
It has been months since I have posted anything and I am going to try to get back into some sort of habit. Well fall is among us and I couldn't be more excited. I love this time of year! I enjoy the mild temps during the day and the chilly temps at night.
A lot has happened over the last several months but there are also a few exciting things on the horizon. So this one is going to be focused on the first one...Sophia Evelyn Smith. Jessika is on a countdown now...35 days and counting! We are all sooo excited to meet this Derek mini-me! The 3D ultrasound pictures were amazing and I can't wait to meet her! A couple weeks ago I threw Jess her baby shower. It was a lot of fun.
The most adorable hand made hat I have ever seen!!! It was definitely a hit at the shower. A big thanks to Aunt Andrea! I can't wait to see little Sophie wearing it.

The Big 4-0
My creative juices have been flowing. I am just itching to get into something. Start some kind of project or "redo" a room or just anything. So I have begun thinking about something creative when it comes to planning something spectacular for my dear hubby's major milestone birthday! That's right...40!!
He is not taking the aging process in the best of strides so I am trying to think of something that will be fun and, if only for the shortest time, take his mind off of his aging body!
I originally said about flying to Vegas for a couple days. Well the time has come, only one small problem...I have about the same amount in savings as I did 3 years ago when the idea first hit me. And somehow I don't think we will make it to Vegas on $50.00!!!!

Cats in the Cradle
Ok, so literally, the cat's in the cradle! Danyelle dragged all her doll babies down last night to play. She also wanted the "crib" to come down too. Well, while she was tired of playing, someone else was just tired! This is where Frisky remained the rest of the evening...and all through the night! It was all fun and games until Dany wanted to crib back for the dolls...the drama, the drama!
Quite the interesting line-up.
Suspect #1 AKA Delaney
Suspect #2 AKA Connie
Suspect #3 AKA Jamie
Suspect #4 AKA Emma
Suspect #5 AKA Baby Becca
Suspect #6 AKA Danyelle
I think #6 looks like trouble!!
(Yes, she has named each one)

Zen
My boss gave another coworker a Zen calendar for on her desk. I don't get it. I try. I try really hard. I think they are neat to read, but I just can't wrap my head around it. What am I missing? I try to be well read and well versed. I love to learn. But I just don't "get" Zen.

Nothing is exactly as it seems, nor is it otherwise. ~Alan Watts
I have spent hours over the last several days, reading different verses and quotes. I absolutely love some of them...and others...I am just left scratching my head.

Hannah Montana
You get the limo out front, hottest styles, every shoe, every color...
That's right folks, Hannah Montana! Now we have been watching Hannah in our home for a couple years now. First Bayley, now Danyelle. She has been watching (intently) to the moves and mimicking what she sees. Well here it is, everyone...your first glimpse at the next Superstar...Dany Montany!
Something no one has...a blue microphone!

Yet another ear infection...
Danyelle has yet another ear infection!! This makes 3 since the first of this year and we are just closing out February!! The poor thing. Fever, drainage, crankiness...just loads of fun! We are waiting to see a specialist, which inevitably will result in the decision of tubes in her ears. I just cringe. I know that this is a minor procedure and not a big deal, I just can barely stand the thought of knowing she will be put under for it. But I will be glad when we don't have to load up on antibiotics and ear drops anymore.
Coming up on the next blog...Hannah Montana fever!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I know...you can hardly wait...)

To move or not to move...that is the question!
So Steve and I have been throwing around the idea of relocating. Where you may ask? We were really close to moving to Maryland about 5 years ago but when tragedy struck, we decided it was best to stay put. Both of us have dreams of spreading our wings and flying away...somewhere...but we that is where it all ends. We have never "really" considered it since 2003 but are now tossing the idea around. A good friend of mine is relocating to the Chester/Lancaster County area this summer and we have begun to toss the idea around. Been doing a lot of research. I am not one that likes change, especially something this big. But the timing of it seems almost perfect. We are open to any ideas, thoughts, input. Thanks, and we will keep you posted!

Thank you
Today I was looking at one of my friend's sister's home page on Facebook. As I was looking through her profile, I stumbled upon something that hit so close to home it made me cry. She is running in the Country Music Marathon in April of this year and her cause is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. I was in awe as I read about her cause. Recently losing my beloved grandmother to this disease, this I believe is a sign. I am definitely going to donate funds and research more of how I can help. If you are interested in donating money to my friend, I have included her personal page. Thank you Ashley for your help in finding a cure to this disease!

Here goes nothing
I have often thought about staring a blog. The more that I thought about it, the more that I realized that I would never keep up with it. Well it is a new year and I am challenging myself. I have joked with myself that this will be my therapy, an outlet of sorts.
In all seriousness, I have a lot to say, I just don't know if I have a lot of time to say it.
My life is like a three-ring circus. Something crazy happening at any minute. I have endured more ups and downs than most in a lifetime. But I love my life. My youngest daughter, Dany, keeps me on my toes and has turned 21 overnight! I don't know where she gets her attitude from...but I think I should start writing it all down. I would have a guaranteed best seller!
I hope you follow along with my journey...it is about to begin!
